No Stone Left Alone

November 6, 2018

Our Red Deer, Sylvan Lake and Olds schools are participating in the No Stone Left Alone event this year.

A class from Holy Trinity Catholic School in Olds already participated on November 2. Two Grade 4 classes will participate in this event today:

Father Henri Voisin School
Alto Reste Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
3.6 km east of 30 Avenue on Highway 11, Red Deer County

École Mother Teresa School
Lakeview Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
4302 - 50 Street, Sylvan Lake

The event will start out with a remembrance day ceremony. Then students will go into the cemetery and place poppies on the headstones of veterans.

The No Stone Left Alone Memorial Foundation is dedicated to honouring and remembering Canada’s veterans. Their unique ceremony provides students and youth with an authentic experience that creates knowledge, understanding and appreciation of those who serve and of the sacrifice of Canada’s fallen. They help youth remember and honour Canada's veterans by placing poppies on the headstones of veterans every November.
