National School Bus Safety Week

It's School Bus Safety Week! Each year the Alberta Student Transportation Advisory Council hosts a school poster contest for students focusing on a new annual theme. This year's focus is, "My Driver. My Hero." 

Elementary students (Kindergarten to Grade 6) across the province are challenged to design a poster with a positive approach to the yearly theme along with a School Bus included in the illustration. The winner will receive a gift card along with their poster framed for display. Their classroom will also be recognized with an award. Please click here for poster contest information.

We want to provide all students with a safe and comfortable journey to and from school. The school bus is an extension of our classrooms and we continue to ensure our spaces are safe and caring environments.

This year, school bus drivers have taken on enhanced measures to ensure the safety of all students due to COVID-19. Bus drivers wear personal protective equipment and ensure students are sitting in their assigned seats for the ride.
