Why is Early Childhood Learning important?
Children who take part in Early Childhood Learning often benefit by gaining independence, self-control, taking initiative and asserting themselves in socially acceptable ways. Children in programming become keen observers who enjoy experimenting to find out what happens when they manipulate materials and interact with other people.
We recognize that child development is rooted in four main areas including social-emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development.
Our programs are designed to foster your child’s knowledge and growth in each of these four areas. Embracing the whole-child is our priority as we journey with you and your child to give them the best start in their life-long learning.
We offer full-day programming in all of our elementary schools. In selected sites, Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools offer a variety of program options including French Immersion.
Applying for Kindergarten
To be eligible for Kindergarten, your child must be five years old on or before December 31 of the school year.
