Where is my Catholic School?
The Division has 21 schools including one non-traditional school (an outreach school in Red Deer) and an online learning program in our high schools. Our schools are located in Red Deer (14), Blackfalds (1), Sylvan Lake (2), Rocky Mountain House (2), Innisfail (1) and Olds (1). Students from surrounding areas are bused to our schools.
Definitions
Catchment School: A school that offers regular programming as close to the student's home as possible. As student growth in some areas may exceed the capacity of local schools, it may be necessary to direct students to attend another school. Students residing within the catchment boundary are expected to attend that school.
School of Choice: The school division offers parents the opportunity to select a School of Choice for their child's education. If parents elect to enroll their child in a School of Choice which is not their catchment school, they will be responsible for transporting their child to and from school or paying a transportation fee. An Out of Boundary form is not required to attend a School of Choice.
Out of Boundary Request: If parents elect to enroll their child in a school outside their catchment and not considered a School of Choice, an Out of Boundary Request is required. Please use the appropriate form below to request your child's enrolment at a school outside of your current catchment area. Please note that parents need to fill out one form for each request. If approved, parents will be responsible for transporting their child to and from school and transportation fees will apply if busing is available.
If you are unsure of the school your child should attend, please contact us to discuss your options. Some catchment schools may be considered a School of Choice. Please contact your child's school if Transportation Fees apply.
Out of Boundary Requests
All out of boundary requests must go through the submission process. A separate form for Kindergarten will be developed as they have an early (January) registration. All other applications must be submitted once the form is released in the first week of March. Requests are evaluated by releasing principal on a case by case basis and only extenuating circumstances will be considered. Out of boundary acceptance is rare as it can create challenges to predictable funding and staffing that can be detrimental to student programming. If a student is accepted as out of boundary for any of the reasons outlined above, they do not need to reapply for the time they remain at that school.

Please note that the interactive web map on this website is intended for quick visual reference only and may not precisely reflect the boundaries defined in the government-approved mapping software. If the address you are searching falls near the edge of a boundary, (particularly rural addresses) final decisions will be based on BusPlanner software.
