The Twelfth Day of Christmas
"The Twelve Days of Christmas" was written in England as one of the "catechism songs" to help young Catholics learn parts of their faith during the time of King Henry VIII.
The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in The Apostles' Creed. It is the foundation upon which the Church is built and constitutes all that binds the Catholic Faith together. (http://www.catholic.org/prayers/prayer.php?p=220)
