Honouring and remembering 215 Indigenous children from the former Kamloops residential school
Today all school flags are flown at half-mast until Monday, June 7 as we support our Indigenous students, staff, and families, our First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Support Team, as well as our dear friends, Elder Corky and Elder Lynn who are experiencing loss and trauma as the result of the discovery of the mass grave of 215 Indigenous children from the residential school in Kamloops.
Our prayers are with those in mourning and the many survivors, as well as those living with intergenerational trauma due to the lasting impacts that the residential school system has on First Nations people and their communities. May God keep them close.
