Enjoy your retirement, Chris Andrew
This morning, we celebrate another longterm member of our Division, Chris Andrew.
Chris began teaching in Red Deer Catholic in the fall of 1988. HIs first teaching assignment was at Camille J. Lerouge Collegiate in the English Department.
While teaching at Camille he was actively involved in extracurricular coaching football, basketball and rugby.
In 1994-1995 Chris took a one year leave from high school teaching to move to St. Teresa of Avila School to teach Grade 5 and Physical Education. When he returned to Camille, his teaching assignment included the lead teacher role in the Integrated Occupations Program which later became known as Knowledge and Employability. Chris also launched a collaborative class combining English and Social Studies (SENGS) with Lee Caine teaching classes of 60-70 students for half a day.
In 1998, Chris moved to St. Thomas Aquinas Junior High School to teach Grade 7,8, and 9 Language Arts. While at St. Thomas Chris enrolled in a Masters of Arts degree through San Diego State University. Upon the completion of his Master's Degree and acceptance into the Leadership Pool for the Red Deer Catholic Regional Division, Chris was then transferred to the Montfort Centre to be the Curriculum Coordinator responsible for Language Arts, Fine Arts, Social Studies and Early Learning.
In his administrative career, he has held leadership positions at Notre Dame High School, St. Elizabeth Seton School, St Francis of Assisi Middle School, St. Gregory the Great Catholic School, Maryview School, and St. Joseph High School.
Chris is most proud of teaching every grade from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 during his 35-year career with Red Deer Catholic Regional Division.
At this time he would like to thank the many talented and gifted educational assistants, teachers, Secretaries, and administrators that he has worked with in his time in Red Deer Catholic.
Enjoy your retirement, Chris!
