National Day of Mourning
On Friday, we took part in the National Day of Mourning Ceremony at Bower Ponds in Red Deer. The day is dedicated to honouring workers who have lost their lives, been injured, or suffered an illness due to their work. Thousands of workers in Canada are injured or killed on the job each year.
Treena Dixon, our Health and Safety Manager, was one of the driving forces behind the creation of Red Deer's Fallen Workers' Memorial, and is also an organizer of the local National Day of Mourning Ceremony each year.
