National Day of Mourning

Today, we stood together at Bower Ponds in Red Deer for the National Day of Mourning, a time to honour and remember workers impacted by workplace fatalities, injuries, and illnesses. The statistics are a stark reminder of the importance of prioritizing health and safety every single day.
A heartfelt thank you to our Health and Safety Manager, Treena Dixon, for her ongoing leadership in organizing Red Deer's National Day of Mourning Ceremony and for her pivotal role in establishing the Fallen Workers' Memorial, and to Secretary-Treasurer Laurel Latka for delivering remarks on behalf of our school division.
Let's continue to work together for safer workplaces.
