Best wishes to the Osczevskis
This morning, we celebrate a husband and wife team who have made a tremendous impact in the St. Matthew Catholic School RMH community - Dean and Deirdre Osczevski.
"We came to St. Matthew’s School from Saskatchewan in 1995 with the plan to teach a couple of years and then see where we would go from there. Here we are 28 years later!
The St. Matthew Family welcomed us and Rocky Mountain House is where we put down roots and raised our two wonderful daughters. We have been blessed to spend the majority of our teaching career in the same school, with amazing colleagues enjoying the incredible sense of community, faith, friendship and fun St. Matt’s has provided.
Deirdre enjoyed over 20 years of coaching middle school volleyball and most of her teaching experience was in middle school math with a few extraneous variables thrown in like elementary french, highschool computer sciences and even a few years in administration.
Dean spent his years coaching basketball and his teaching started in Grade 2, then Grade 6 - mostly math and science, and he has finished his career in Counselling (and no, not on the receiving end) and Elementary Phys Ed.
To add to this crazy formula, we had the opportunity to teach and coach our girls as they came through our school and somehow the equation stayed balanced, well, on most days.
To sum it all up, thank you to Red Deer Catholic for this wonderful opportunity and to St. Matthew staff and students throughout the years for this incredible journey. It is time to leave the nest while these wings can still fly and as Dean says, ‘Deirdre gets to see twice as much of her husband for half as much money.’"
Congratulations on your retirement, Dean and Deirdre!
